Urinary Incontinence Products - ContactInstructions for use

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 1

Clean and dry the area (do not use liquid soap or other soaps with added moisturizer or lanolin). Beside towel drying, it should be allowed to air dry for a few minutes.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 2

Remove paper backing. Place faceplate on glans of penis.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 3

Position faceplate over urinary opening, so petal no.1 is aligned in center, under tip of penis (frenulum).

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 1

Apply faceplate. Smooth petal no.1 in center, under frenulum. Next, smooth down both no.2 petals, then, sweep both no. 3 petals forward. Hold Bioderm® in place for 10-20 seconds to seal the hydrocolloid to the penis with the body heat.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 5

Apply seal. Peel paper backing halfway back. Place seal with notch centered under frenulum.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 6

Press sticky side of the seal onto the penis with petal no.1 under center of seal above notch. Smooth the first half of seal around frenulum.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 7

Hold release paper and fold around tip to apply other half of seal. Be careful not to pull the collar too tightly around the glans.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 8

Ensure strong seal. Press seal into ridges and grooves under and all around frenulum.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 9

Insert tube connector with a twisting action into stem of faceplate. Uncircumcised users must now return foreskin to a forward position over the BioDerm.

Urinary Incontinence Product application step 10

The tube connects directly to leg or bedside urine collection bag. The drainage tube should be secured onto the leg.

BioDerm removal and disposal

  • Continence products can be bulky and difficult to dispose of; BioDerm® is small enough to be stored discreetly in a pocket
  • BioDerm is ready to be replaced when the hydrocolloid collar turns a milky white or opaque colour, or if there are any signs of leakage
  • Once BioDerm has reached its full user wear time it should come off easily. Simply wrap a warm wet cloth around the adhesive area (or soak in warm water) until the collar is white. BioDerm will then gently slide off
